FAQ
Do you work with rare languages?
Absolutely! We have all sorts of native speakers in our team, and they will be happy to translate what you need. Telugu, Greek, Swahili, Albanian, Ossetian – just contact us, and we will most certain find a specialist to meet your needs.
How fast are your translators?
The standard translation speed is about 10,000 characters per day. That being said, the speed may vary depending on the complexity and subject of the text, the language pair and the urgency of the translation.
Are there discounts for large volumes or repeated orders?
Of course, we provide discounts for regular customers. Discounts for the text lenght – even for new customers – are possible, but are subject to separate discussions.
I need an urgent translation. Can you do it?
Absolutely! As a rule, reduced deadlines lead to a 20-100% increase in cost. Please contact our managers for more details.
What are your fields of expertise?
We work in various areas. When assigning orders, we always consider the translators' understanding of a particular professional field, and all translated texts are checked by an experienced editor. This allows us to guarantee the highest quality of translation, whether it is a medical article or an annual financial report.
Can I request a test translation?
If you wish, we can perform a test translation for you. The scope of the test assignment is agreed upon separately.
Is it possible to request interpreting?
Yes. Simply contact us and leave a request for interpretation, specifying the required language.
What if I need a translation from one foreign language to another?
The algorithm of processing requests for such translation is similar to the standard one. Often our employees work with different language pairs. Please contact us, and we will find a competent specialist with guaranteed results.
How can I pay for the translation?
As a rule, we work on 50% prepayment; the rest of the amount is paid by you upon receiving and confirming the translation. Persons can pay online via website and using card-to-card transfer, and for legal entities it is also possible to transfer funds to our business account. For our regular customers there is a discount policy, and it is possible to request translation without prepayment.
In some cases, we have to work on 100% prepayment. Before taking your order to work, we state all the terms of service, including payment. Details can be clarified with our managers via phone, e-mail or messengers.
Does your agency have a license?
In accordance with Article 12 of the Russian Federal Law No. 99-FZ (ed. 30.12.2015) "On licensing of certain types of activities", translation from foreign languages is not subject to licensing. The list specified in Article 12 of the aforementioned federal law is comprehensive. Introduction of additional activities subject to licensing is only possible by making amendments to the aforementioned federal law.
Are the agency’s seal and translator's signature sufficient to certify a document?
Quite so. This option is suitable for those who are collecting a package of documents for foreign countries, their consulates and embassies. For example, when applying for a visa.
You did a translation for me some time ago, and now I need it again. Sadly, I don't have the original/copy. Can you help me?
Translations ordered from us are stored indefinitely. You can get them upon request. We do not keep copies of any personal documents.
Earlier I ordered a full-passport translation, but since then I have got a few more stamps and marks in it. Can I add just one more page to the previous translation?
Unfortunately, that is not possible. You will need to re-translate your document and have it notarized again. However, there is a 50% discount for a re-translation of any document.
Do I have to bring the original documents to have the translation certified by a notary?
As a rule, a notary requires the original document to verify the translation against the copy. Realizing that it is not always possible to present originals, some notaries are willing to meet the needs of translators and their clients. Nevertheless, we recommend you to bring the originals in order to reduce the time required for authorization.
Can a third party order a translation of a document to be notarized?
Yes, any person can order translation and notarization of any document.
Can my notary certify your translation?
No, the translation is certified only by the specialist with whom Star Translate has a contract. All our notary partners are located within walking distance from our office and are always happy to quickly certify a translation. Moreover, we value your time and are ready to send the certified translation via courier service in Russia or abroad.
Can I translate a document myself if I know the language?
If you are confident in your skills, send us the translation. After its quality has been checked by our experts, we will certify the document at a 50% discount off the standard translation fee. (Please note: translations made by automated translation systems such as Google Translate are not accepted for editing).
